How To Do Diwali Lakshmi Puja at Home?

If you’re planning to perform Diwali Puja, our expert Vedic pandits will help you with all the puja samagri and other requirements. We will also provide you with a checklist of the samagri and household items you need to arrange for a religious experience. All the steps for performing Lakshmi Puja at home are simple, but chanting mantras is a complex task. Pandit Ji will help ease the process for you, explaining the meaning of each shloka and mantra you will be reciting for a clear understanding of the ritual.

Puja Preparation

Before starting the Lakshmi Puja, the performer or the homeowner must ensure that the houses are cleaned thoroughly and decorate them to invite Goddess Lakshmi. Sprinkle a few drops of Gangajal in your home as a purity mark.

Setting Up The Puja Chowki

The next step is to set up the puja platform where Lakshmi Ji’s idol will be placed. Spread a red cloth on a low-height chowki with some grains sprinkled. You must draw lotus, Lakshmi Ji’s sawari with turmeric powder, and put the idol on it.

Clean Idols In Holy Water

The next step is bathing the idols in clean water and decorating them with garland, turmeric powder, and vermillion.

Begin The Puja

After setting up the altar, you can begin with the puja. First, you must offer some homemade delicacies to Ganesh Ji and Lakshmi Ji. Lit incense sticks and lamps and chant the mantras along with pandit Ji.

Read Lakshmi Ji’s Story

The next step involves reading Lakshami Ji’s Katha, which is usually done by the Pandit Ji or the elder member of the family. Once done, offer flowers and sweets to the idols.

End With Aarti

The last step for Lakshami Diwali Puja is Lakshami Ji’s aarti. Wave the camphor before the deity and sing aarti along with Pandit Ji. After the Lakshami aarti, prayers are offered to God, and prasad is distributed amongst performers.
